Abstract:
Organizations use business intelligence (BI) systems to make strategic decisions in the business. This paper examines how organizations can use BI tools to acquire data to help make decisions. The study presents several cases of the application of BI systems in various industries that show the system’s advantages, such as better data visualization and analytical and real-time reports. The paper also addresses data integration, user system uptake, and quality. Therefore, we offer the following recommendations to companies planning to invest in BI or enhance their existing BI initiatives: Organizational objectives should link BI strategies, and users should receive regular training.

Abstract:
Because of their IT flexibility, cloud services have become an essential tool that positively impacts the functioning of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Thus, this paper aims to analyze the effects of cloud computing on SMEs, emphasizing the positive effects, including increased efficiency of business operations, better cooperation between team members, and decreased IT expenditure. After analyzing the primary and secondary data collected from various sectors, the research shows the main drivers for cloud computing and the main problems organizations face, such as data security and the availability of a stable internet connection. The conclusions are helpful for SMEs who plan to move their data to the cloud and indicate the necessity of choosing the proper CSP and implementing the proper approach to data management.

Abstract:
Cybersecurity has been an area of concern, especially for financial institutions, since financial data is sensitive and the world is experiencing more cyber threats. This paper endeavors to pinpoint the strategies and tactics that financial organizations can implement to enhance cybersecurity. Based on the case studies and expert interviews, the study presents the most efficient solutions, including multi-factor authentication, encryption, and continuous monitoring. This paper also compares the issues of compliance, staff development, and incident handling. The current analysis presents best practices and recommendations for financial organizations to improve cybersecurity, focusing on preventive strategy and multi-layer security.

Abstract:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently one of the most influential technologies that help to develop customer relationship management (CRM) by improving managers’ communication with customers. This paper focuses on applying AI in CRM systems to understand how chatbots, predictive analytics, and sentiment analysis can be used to improve customer service. The following are real-life examples of how top companies have implemented AI in CRM and the advantages of doing so. This paper also discusses some challenges, like the data privacy issue and the fact that an AI model needs to be frequently updated. Recommendations are suggested for organizations that want to incorporate AI in their CRM management.

Abstract:
Large corporations widely use enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to unify and coordinate organizational business processes. This paper reviews the literature on ERP implementation and examines cases from around the world and across industries. Some conclusions include critical success factors such as top management support, proper project management, and user training. Other challenges include the cost of implementing the changes, people’s resistance to change, and data transfer. The study’s implications are helpful for organizations that intend to adopt ERP systems to enhance their business processes through proper planning, the involvement of various stakeholders, and sustenance support.

Abstract:
Mobile banking has expanded tremendously, with a high level of convenience and ease when accessing bank services. This paper analyzes the development of mobile banking, focusing on its effects on banking services and consumers. Based on information collected from different parts of the world, the study reveals the potential benefits of adopting AI in banking services, including improving financial inclusion, raising customer experience standards, and reducing bank costs. The paper also presents problems in security, regulation, and technology use. The identified themes of security, usability, and evolution provide banks with suggestions to enhance their mobile banking services.

Abstract:
Today, data analytics is changing how HR functions by providing a detailed view of talent management. This paper presents the use of data analytics in HRM, emphasizing recruitment, performance, and turnover. Using case studies and consultant interviews, the study finds that HR analytics’s primary value includes better HR decision-making, employee engagement, and workforce planning. The difficulties include data privacy issues, integration problems, and data analyst requirements. The conclusions presented in the paper offer specific guidelines for HR practitioners who would like to engage in data analytics, stressing the significance of data credibility, stakeholder involvement, and lifelong learning.

Abstract:
The pandemic has underscored the need for solid information systems in managing organizations in the new normal characterized by remote work. This paper examines how information systems enable remote working with the help of tools such as VPNs, cloud collaboration, and cybersecurity. Based on the cases from different industries, the study reveals the following guidelines for supporting remote work: IT solutions, employee preparedness, and secure connections to company assets. This paper also reveals some challenges, including how to maintain team cohesion, manage work when some team members are remote, and protect data. Based on the problem analysis, the following recommendations are provided for those companies that want to improve their work with remote employees.

Abstract:
The world is witnessing a shift towards improving digital innovation in the healthcare industry, where information systems are central. This paper aims to review the contribution of information systems to improving healthcare delivery systems through EHRs, telemedicine, and HIEs. The research is based on case studies and interviews with industry specialists, which describe the positive impacts of digital health systems, such as better patient outcomes, simple access to information, and operational efficiency. Other problems, including intra- and inter-system compatibility, data protection, and users’ acceptability, are also addressed. We present recommendations for healthcare organizations planning to use information systems for innovation, including stakeholders’ roles, sound data governance, and employee training.

Abstract:
Social media analytics is a process that contains essential data that can help improve marketing strategies. This paper examines the impact of social media analytics on marketing, utilizing examples from various industries. Some benefits include enhanced customer understanding, proper advertising, and instant customer response. We discuss potential issues such as data overload, privacy concerns, and the need for analytical skills. Thus, the research provides recommendations for marketers wishing to use social media analytics effectively, such as selecting appropriate tools, integrating analytics into decision-making processes, and regularly modifying strategies based on insights.

Follow the steps below to submit your paper to the Journal of Applied Business Research.

  1. Email your paper to the journal secretariat at editorials@klalliance.org
  2. The initial double-blind review will be completed within 20-25 days.
  3. If revisions are requested, revisions must be made within the timeframe specified by the reviewer.
  4. If the paper is accepted, the paper will be put in production and you will be notified of the approximate publication date.
  5. Questions should be addressed to the appropriate Editor.

AI Policy

Large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini, do not satisfy our authorship criteria. Use of an LLM must be properly documented. If a LLM is used, please closely follow the guidelines below:

  • Indicate the use of LLM(s) in the manuscript cover letter, methods section, and acknowledgements. Specify the scope of how LLMs were used.
  • Ensure the content and citations produced by the LLM(s) are accurate, valid, and appropriate. Correct any mistakes or inconsistencies found. Provide a list of sources used to generate content and citations, including those generated by language models.
  • Vigilantly check plagiarism, where LLM may have reproduced substantial text from other sources. Check the original sources to be sure you are not plagiarizing someone else’s work.
  • Acknowledge the limitations of language models in the manuscript, including the potential for bias, errors, and gaps in knowledge.

Subscription and Fees

Following the acceptance of your manuscript, there is a nominal $350 article processing fee. This fee is instrumental in covering the operational costs of the journal and facilitating extensive marketing of your published work to a broader audience. It serves to benefit both authors and our journal’s sustainability.

The Journal of Knowledge Management Practice upholds the principles of open access and aims to provide equitable opportunities for authors. The journal does not implement a “submission fee” or “publishing fee”.
